Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I exchange my used DVDs with Movie Exchange?

A:
Exchanging your used DVDs is a great way to get rid of those old DVDs that you never watch anymore -- and Movie Exchange will give you top dollar exchange value for them!

Q: Once you receive my DVDs, when will I receive my movie credit exchange value?

A:
Your exchange value movie credit will be issued as soon as the quality of your used DVDs is verified as acceptable. Please see Important Information for complete information on the requirements for a DVD to be accepted. Normally this process takes three (3) working days after receipt. We will notify you via e-mail the day the day your credit exchange value is issued.

Q: What happens when a DVD title is not acceptable?

A:
We will either return it to you at your cost or we will destroy it; depending the instructions you have given to us. Presently we reject less than 2% of all used DVDs sent to us.

Q: What will happen if I ship DVDs to you that are lost or damaged?

A:
We are not responsible for lost or damaged shipments. To prevent such losses to you, we always suggest that you take extra care in packaging your DVDs and that you insure your shipments to us.

Q: How do you determine how much my used DVDs are worth?

A:
The amount we can credit you for your DVDs is determined by supply and demand. We pay the highest exchange value for DVDs that people are always looking for but seldom wish to sell. Movies that are available in high supply and low demand will always have a lower exchange value.

Q: Are there any DVDs Movie Exchange won't accept for exchange?

A:
Please see Important Information for complete information on the requirements for a DVD to be accepted.

Q: Is there a limit to how many DVDs I can ship to Movie Exchange?

A:
No. Movie Exchange will exchange one DVD from you, or we'll exchange your entire collection if you wish. We will exchange up to two (2) DVDs of every acceptable movie title. If you wish to exchange more than two (2) DVDs a single title please contact first.

Q: In what condition must the DVDs be that I am exchanging?

A:
To receive full value, all DVDs must be boxed and in full working order. Covers must be present and in perfect condition. In the case of torn covers or broken boxes Movie Exchange will deduct $1.00 of the full value given per DVD received in such a condition.

Q: Will you accept DVDs that play perfectly but have minor scratches?

A:
Yes, we do accept DVDs with minor; however, scratched DVDs that skip will be rejected and returned. Movie Exchange reserves the right to determine the acceptable quality of received DVDs.

Q: If my DVDs are still sealed in their original packaging will I receive a higher value?

A:
Unfortunately, unless purchased from Movie Exchange' approved distributors, all such DVDs must be classified as used, therefore you will not receive a higher value for such DVDs.
