Ninth Street Description: "For over 40 years, Junction City, Kansas, was known as Sin City, and Ninth Street, with its notorious stretch of black-owned jazz clubs, bars and businesses, was known as "The Harlem of Kansas." Catering to the GIs of nearby Fort Riley, Ninth Street was home to winos and priests, cafe owners and pimps, hookers and cabbies.

"Holding court over this explosive mix are two resident winos, Bebo and Huddie, who try to maintain the street's traditions and standards in the face of ruthless new muscle trying to move in. Joining Huddie and Bebo in the attempt to salvage the street are an activist priest (Martin Sheen), Tippytoe (Isaac Hayes), the owner of the local cab stand, Pop Bottle Ruby (Kaycee Moore), and cafe owner Momma Butler (Queen Bey). Soon old friendships will be tested and all that has been built up is in danger of being swept away."
