I honestly can not remember an adult film with a better pre-release PR campaign behind it. Forgive me if I seem impressed by all the hype, but I am. The folks at X-Play have taken one of the most popular sexual fantasies of our time and turned it into a full-blown porn event. They have taken Jessica Dee, given her a name change, a pop princess make over and turned her into Britney Rears. Britney had a web site, a theme song and radio appearances before she ever had a movie. How can we not love that? If anything, it makes the whole pop star tie-in all the more realistic. After a brief press conference, we get to see how things go on a typical day at Britney's estate. Did I want more? Sure. I would still love to see the whole MTV pop princess thing played up all the way. That would require a major script and for this movie, they went with a catchy tune, some screaming fans more hype than you can shake a stick at. Now I just hope they bring everyone back for the sequel, do a bit more dialog, let Britney fuck a critic (Me, me) and give us all a chance to wear out our “Oops she did him again” lines.
