As I make my way down the list of AVN nominated projects, this one really stands out. Five of the main players in To Die For are up for Best Actor/Actress awards for this film. Austin Kincaid and Monique Alexander join Tommy Gunn for top honors while Liza Harper, Kurt Lockwood and Manuel Ferrara have earned supporting nods. That's a pretty impressive feat and makes the movie worth watching just to see how this quintet handles the script. As a sucker for a good feature, I'm looking forward to seeing how these performers mesh in this dialog driven Paul Thomas project. It is an intricate tale of three couples, intertwined by friendship, attraction deceit and betrayal. There is so much going on and so many fine performances that the sex might be secondary. Let's hope that isn't the case because there are some fine looking women in the cast.

There are times in this movie when the script defiantly overpowers the sex. That's never a good sign for an adult film, even one that tries to be plot driven. On the plus side the acting really is very good. All of the main players do a really good job with their dialog and actually make me want to see the movie through to its conclusion. Don't get me wrong, there are some good sexual moments. Haley is very good as always and Monique Alexander is just so damn beautiful that we can't take our eyes off of her. The sex in this movie is not raincoater sex, but if you were looking for that then you are way off base. Vivid's movies aren't shot like that so the best you can hope for is stuff that is hot for a feature. Monique's beauty, Haley's heat and the overall tension created by the story make the sex pretty good. Overall this is a solid effort for couples who like porn that is well acted, beautiful (if softly) lit and filled with eye candy. Just don't expect a light and fluffy ending and you'll be fine.
